I have been an IBCLC for almost a year and am excited to work with you!
I struggled a lot with my first baby, and began to see a new passion within myself. I became a milk donor and had the opportunity to donate over 13,000oz to a local family and Austin Milk Bank. I was originally encouraged by my mom to become a breastfeeding counselor for fun while I was a teacher; just to have to opportunity to help a few families with advise. In the mist of taking that class, I realized this is exactly what I was called to do. 2 months later I quit my teaching job after 7 years and dived head first in to helping families by being a breastfeeding counselor and less than two years later a IBCLC.
I love spending time with my husband and kids. Being outdoors, fishing, hiking, traveling, baking, making bread, and riding horses.
What I'll bring to your lactation journey:
When I work with families, I’ve learned that my care goes much farther than just lactation support. If you asked my friends and family, I would do anything I can to squeeze a family in who needs extra support. I have had the opportunity to meet so many families and have created lifelong friendships along the way. I always joke, whether we have 1 lactation appointment or 5, we will most likely become friends for life.
I specialize in Oral Habilitation, functional feeding assessments, reflex based feeding techniques, bottle refusal, exclusively pumping, weaning from nipple shields, low milk supply, increasing milk production, and basic newborn care.
