In-Home Lactation Consultant in West Jordan, Utah
Hi, I'm Kira!
Feeding your baby doesn't always go the way you imagined—and you don't have to figure it out alone. As a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I help families navigate everything from preparing to breastfeed before birth to overcoming feeding challenges after baby arrives.
Based in West Jordan, Utah, I provide in-home lactation consultations throughout Salt Lake County and Northern Utah County, as well as virtual lactation support to families worldwide.
For more than a decade, I have supported families during some of the most important and vulnerable days of parenthood. With over 11 years of experience as a postpartum nurse and more than 6 years as an in-hospital lactation specialist, I have helped families navigate the early days of feeding with confidence and support.
My clinical experience includes prenatal breastfeeding education, latching and positioning support, building and protecting milk supply, pumping guidance, supplemental feeding plans, and helping families work through common feeding challenges. I also have a special interest in supporting adoptive families who are exploring induced lactation and breastfeeding relationships with their children.
What makes my approach unique is not only my professional experience, but my personal journey as well.
I am a proud mom of six with a beautifully diverse family made up of both biological and adopted children. My own feeding journey was far from straightforward. As a young mother, I struggled significantly with breastfeeding my first baby. My second baby faced feeding challenges related to oral restrictions. It took three children before I experienced the breastfeeding relationship I had hoped for.
Later, my journey expanded in ways I never expected. Through adoption, I experienced the incredible process of inducing lactation and creating breastfeeding relationships with some of my adopted children. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the many different paths families take to nourish, connect with, and love their babies.
Because of both my professional and personal experiences, I understand that every family's story is different. There is no one "right" way to feed a baby—only the path that works best for you and your family.
