“I Wish I Called Sooner”: Breezy Babies Experiences
Did you know that 60% of moms don’t breastfeed for as long as they planned to?
At Breezy Babies, we know there are countless reasons why that might be. The difficulties of nursing can be heavy, and we know they’re more common than most people realize.
When the struggle starts to feel lonely, we hope you know that you can find the care and support you need.
Four Stories of Feeding Support
Asking for help can feel vulnerable, but we have hundreds of experiences showing it’s worth it. Everyone’s feeding journey is different, and each mom has their own stories to tell, but we know the caring support from Breezy Babies can help improve any experience.
Here are a few stories from women who are grateful they connected with Breezy Babies.
From Megan: “I Wanted This Time To Be Different”
Megan didn’t have a great experience breastfeeding her first baby, and that left her feeling nervous when her second child was born.
“After speaking with Sabrina, I felt so much more confident and reassured,” said Megan. “I knew I could reach out to her whenever I needed support. I’m so grateful for her kindness and guidance, and compassionate lactation support.”
At Breezy Babies, we know past experiences can cause stress or anxiety about future goals. We’re here to work with you, hopes and history included, and always with warmth and care.
From Hailey: “Now I Feel More Confident”
As a first-time mom, Hailey met with Breezy Babies every week for a time. She had a lot of questions (normal!), and she said the frequent visits with Julie helped keep her going.
“Without that help and support, I think I would have given up,” said Hailey. “It made a huge difference for my baby and me. Those visits were a lifesaver during those first few months.”
After those early weeks, Hailey gained much more confidence, and her daughter was eating well and gaining weight.
From Kim: “Blend of Practical Tips and Encouragement”
Kim had worked with several lactation consultants before, including in a hospital setting, but she felt a difference with Breezy Babies.
“Breastfeeding was initially so stressful for me,” said Kim. “Casey helped me with an awesome blend of practical tips and encouragement. She helped me overcome the mental and physical hurdles so that I could successfully nurse my baby.”
The IBCLCs at Breezy Babies have significant experience with the physical, mental, emotional, and social challenges that can come with nursing. Their well-rounded approach supports moms as whole people, not just latch checks or feeding window facts. When all parts of the postpartum experience are considered, families can get the support they need in all the right ways.
From Olivia: “I Feel So Much More Relaxed and Happy”
Many first-time moms feel confused when breastfeeding feels anything but natural. Olivia felt that way when her new baby had difficulty latching after getting home from the hospital.
“I felt so defeated and confused,” said Olivia. “I talked to friends and family, but couldn’t figure out why she wouldn’t latch anymore. She was losing weight, and I felt like such a bad mom.”
After reaching out to Breezy Babies, Olivia met with IBCLC Candis and immediately found relief.
“Candis was a lifesaver!” said Olivia. “She gave me good exercises and videos to watch, helped me with ways to latch, and she helped me find a good nipple shield that fit the needs of my baby. She gained six ounces in two days! I feel so much more relaxed and happy now that my baby is being fed.”
Friends and family are a crucial part of postpartum support, but sometimes an experienced IBCLC can unlock simple solutions that completely shift a mom’s feeding experience. At Breezy Babies, we know the emotional toll that comes with a baby losing weight, and we gently walk moms through the process of solving problems and finding the right solutions.
